Let’s complete the installation process.
Connect to your web interface: by default, it’s http://YOUR_SERVER_IP_ADDRESS/centreon
Proceed as follow:
After Nagios install (see my previous post), we will start our final step. Centreon installation
cd /usr/local/src/ sudo wget http://download.centreon.com/index.php?id=4242 sudo tar -xzf centreon-2.1.5.tar.gz cd centreon-2.1.5 export PATH="$PATH:/usr/local/nagios/bin/" sudo ./install.sh -i
Oups, seems I forgot to mention Nagios part 2 installation process 🙂 Sorry for this.
Ok let’s finish this Nagios install:
Please edit /etc/default/snmpd
sudo nano /etc/default/snmpd
and change these sections:
#SNMPDOPTS='-Lsd -Lf /dev/null -u snmp -I -smux -p /var/run/snmpd.pid 127.0.0.1' SNMPDOPTS='-Ls4d -Lf /dev/null -u snmp -I -smux -p /var/run/snmpd.pid'
In previous post we prepared our system for Nagios and Centreon installation. Let’s install Nagios
PS: use “nagaccess03” as password for nagios account (see the previous post for the complete list of accounts and passwords)
sudo useradd -m -s /bin/bash nagios sudo passwd nagios sudo groupadd nagcmd sudo usermod -G nagios, nagcmd nagios sudo usermod -a -G nagios, nagcmd www-data
Hi again, before starting the installation process, let define some rules we will follow: I recommend that before you start any installation you define a template for the naming scheme of your monitored machines. I decided to uses this one (but it’s up to you to create your own): 3 first letters for customer-name of the machine-environment. In my case it’s ACT-CENTREON-TEST (ACT for ACTIVLAN, Centreon for my computer and test for the target environment) for the central monitoring machine.
Hi, I've decided to install a monitoring solution and if possible a free one.
Concerning the Linux version, as I was using for some time Ubuntu, I decided to choose this one: Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS.
In following posts, I'll describe the installation process I used for my monitoring solution.
