Sorry for not updating so often, I was quite busy and as you know, there is only 24 hours in a day 🙂

Go back to our main subject, Merethis has released Centreon 2.2.0

Let-s try to update our ‘old’ config :

cd /usr/local/src
sudo wget
sudo tar -xzf centreon-2.2.0.tar.gz
cd centreon-2.1.9
cp www/install/sql/centreon/Update-DB-2.2.0-RC2.sql_to_2.2.0.sql www/install/sql/centreon/Update-DB-2.2.0-RC2_to_2.2.0.sql
sudo ./ -u /etc/centreon

Beware and copy the sql file to a new one as there is an error in a filename. If you don’t, you’ll see version 2.2RC2 and not 2.2.0. This will be fixed in version 2.2.1.

This time, we will try to migrate our centreon solution from our previous Ubuntu 8.04 LTS to our new Ubuntu 10.04 LTS edition (It should work for other version too).
To do that, you should have the same centreon version on both side (for database scheme compatibility).
I use the same IP address for my both servers (it’s for a complete replacement)

Backup your Ubuntu 8.04 LTS solution

sudo service nagios stop
sudo service centstorage stop
sudo /usr/local/centreon/cron/purgeCentstorage
sudo service centcore stop
sudo service ndo2db stop

You will need Centreon-Syslog installation files. Please go to and register. You’ll be able to download sources after that:

Download the stable release (when I wrote, it was the 1.2.1 version). After getting the frontend and server files, transfer them on your server with WinSCP or any other tools you like.
